The Communications division provides strategic internal and external communication advice to leaders across the Bank and leads the external positioning of the organisation through corporate communications and public relations. It supports the engagement of the Bank's people through implementation of clear and integrated internal communications. It also works to build and maintain the reputation of the Bank with other key stakeholder groups, including customers, shareholders, and the broader community.
Retail Banking Services (RBS) is Australia's largest retail banking operation. The retail bank is focused on providing excellent customer service to, and meeting the financial needs of, nine million customers across Australia. It has over 19,000 staff across a network that includes 1,010 branches and large scale call centre operations.
The business unit (BU) has considerable internal communication requirements to engage its people around a clear business strategy. The BU also generates the need for cross BU and Group-wide staff communication. As such, CBA-TV News has been identified as a critical communication channel for reaching the geographically dispersed population of the Retail Bank. This role is within the RBS Communications team as Presenter/Producer CBA-TV News and reports through to the Executive Producer.
The primary purpose of this role is to:
To develop, produce and present stories and segments for CBA-TV News.
More specifically your main duties will include:
- The development, production and presentation of all news stories to be broadcast on CBA-TV News, under the editorial direction of the RBS Communications team and in consultation with the Executive Producer/Production Manager, CBA-TV News
- Management of all production elements associated with the development of a story for broadcast on CBA-TV News, including engagement with the Group's broadcast team for all associated personnel such as camera and sound operators, editors etc
- Provide advice and guidance to key business stakeholders on the most effective delivery and broadcast of stories on CBA-TV News
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent levels of service are provided and communication is effective
- Manage all activities associated with the development and production of stories to be broadcast on CBA-TV News including coordinating production elements, scripting, direction, talent management and presentation of stories
- Develop and translate story ideas that meet communications objectives through an audio/visual medium
- On-camera presentation of stories and other associated presentation skills including voice-over, interviewing and occasional hosting capabilities
- Where opportunities arise and on occasion, produce and film stories
To be successful for this fantastic opportunity you must have:
- Demonstrable experience in the development, production and presentation of broadcast material
- Demonstrable capability to present on-camera in a professional manner
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to deal with complex and sensitive issues and changing internal and business climate
- Experience in the development and production of stories, including all elements involved in the pre and post production of stories (examples of scripts and/or production notes would be ideal)
- On-camera presentation skills preferably with commercial television experience (applications must be accompanied by a show reel)
- Ability to travel interstate on occasion
